Cooper is definitely our most adventurous budgie. She is extremely curious and into everything. Yesterday she was up to all kinds of mischief.
She likes to hang out on the windowsill, which is fine.
But she also likes to chip away at the paint. Which is not fine. I didn’t want her ingesting paint chips, so I tried to cover it up. But chewing on tape is also a fun thing to do. No matter how many times I would take her away, she would fly right back. Cooper is very determined. Looks like Harry will have to nail down some wood on those sills.
She also decided the best place to nibble the calcium perch was at the base. She kept going until this happened. Luckily, this is an easy fix.
After that she moved on to the cuttlebone. She worked very hard at taking big chunks out of it to throw on the bottom of the cage.
This was a brand new cuttlebone.
When Harry came home she decided to explore under his shirt. Maybe she was looking for millet…
This handsome little fellow loves attention and will nip at Lyn’s mum’s hand if she is doing something other than giving Indi the attention he deserves. Indi helps with the washing and with bookwork and has learned to say, ” You’re going back to your cage”.
Indi’s favorite foods are carrots, corn, snow peas, broccoli and silverbeet. He loves veggies more than fruit.
Indi loves his oval shaped bell and rope swing, but his favorite toy is the plastic “flower” pictured above.
This is a toy I put together. I bought the vine balls (a budgie favorite) at the bird store – the rest is recycled parts from previous toys. The toy was a big hit. There was even some squabbling over who got to play with it first.
The lovebirds – Sunny and Dewey.
Sunny (who is doing well in the cage with the others – but still isn’t allowed to be in there unsupervised).
