I have a little budgie
\nHe is my very pal
\nI take him walks in Britain
\nI hope I always shall.<\/p>\n
I call my budgie Jeffrey
\nMy grandads name’s the same
\nI call him after grandad
\nWho had a feathered brain.<\/p>\n
Some people don’t like budgies
\nThe little yellow brats
\nThey eat them up for breakfast
\nOr give them to their cats.<\/p>\n
My uncle ate a budgie
\nIt was so fat and fair.
\nI cried and called him Ronnie
\nHe didn’t seem to care<\/p>\n
Although his name was Arthur
\nIt didn’t mean a thing.
\nHe went into a petshop
\nAnd ate up everything.<\/p>\n
The doctors looked inside him,
\nTo see what they could do,
\nBut he had been too greedy
\nAnd died just like a zoo.<\/p>\n
My Jeffrey chirps and twitters
\nWhen I walk into the room,
\nI make him scrambled egg on toast
\nAnd feed him with a spoon.<\/p>\n
He sings like other budgies
\nBut only when in trim
\nBut most of all on Sunday
\nThat’s when I plug him in.<\/p>\n
He flies about the room sometimes
\nAnd sits upon my bed
\nAnd if he’s really happy
\nHe does it on my head.<\/p>\n
He’s on a diet now you know
\nFrom eating far too much
\nThey say if he gets fatter
\nHe’ll have to wear a crutch.<\/p>\n
It would be funny wouldn’t it
\nA budgie on a stick
\nImagine all the people
\nLaughing till they’re sick.<\/p>\n
So that’s my budgie Jeffrey
\nFat and yellow too
\nI love him more than daddie
\nAnd I’m only thirty two.<\/p>\n
