I am so glad you posted this picture. I would FREAK if one my budgies looked like that but now I know it’s just part of the moulting process. It looks like Tucker and Oscar are starting now. Your blogs are not only entertaining but informative as well. THANKS!!!
I was a little freaked at first, until I read up on it on different budgie sites. I’m hoping all the pin feathers that come in won’t be too uncomfortable for him. He’s going to look like a pin cushion!
Oh dear 😯 Allen looks a lot like that right now….
I gave Dewey a misting – I read that that helps with the discomfort.
Poor little Allen – give him a little kiss for me!

Allen will let me rub his head feathers and use my fingernails to open up the pinfeathers. 🙂
Lucky you! Cooper used to let me do that before we got Dewey. Now her head is hands off : (.
Poor nekkidish bird. Hopefully his new feathers will come in soon.
Poor little guy. He’s been so sleepy lately, too.
Allen gets that way when he’s molting, too. Sleepy and kinda grumpy…
