Look what I brought home today!
Nope, it’s not a Doodlebug.
It’s an adorable budgie! I picked it up at the animal shelter. It’s another mystery bird – it was found outdoors and has no leg band. It will be in quarantine for a month, but the budgies are already chirping back and forth. Not sure of it’s age or whether it’s male or female. I’ll have to ask the experts on http://talkbudgies.com/. And of course, the little cutie will need a name…

Thanks! I couldn’t tell by the cere. It looks blue in these photos, but up close it’s purplish with pinkish spots.
We’re calling him Captain Underpants at the moment (it looks like he’s wearing underwear). But he’ll definitely need a more distinguished name than that!.

when i got my first budgie i didn’t know if he was a boy or a girl, he had the same colored cere but he turned out to be a boy
