Cooper’s Cuties

Meet Celeste and Cyan!cc Named after two shades of blue, these little cuties live in Central Louisiana, United States, with Kamryn and her family.cc1Celeste and Cyan are two spontaneous parakeets, about 6-7 months old. Too young to tell their exact gender, everyone just assumes Cyan is male and Celeste is female. They have only lived with Kamryn and her family for a few weeks, but are extremely friendly and love to perch on anyone and everyone’s head and shoulders. They then proceed to poop on them. House training is a work in progress.

Sadly their wings have to stay clipped because of the size of the house, but they love to flutter around. Especially in front of the window when Milo (their kitty sister that also likes to perch) is locked outside.cc2Their favorite thing to do is perch on Kamryn’s shoulder, snuggle up to her neck, and very loudly “kiss” right by her ear while she is trying to watch a movie.unnamedSometimes Kamryn will take photos of that and add captions, or doodles to them.
Their favorite snack is millet, and the container their vegetables are in.

They have a play gym but all they do is sit next to each other and chirp, like they do everywhere else. Unless the swing is involved. Swings before love.

  1. Aw, they’re adorable! Love the photo of them kissing. Wish mine would stay still long enough to cuddle up with me.

  2. Celeste & Cyan are cuddle bugs 😉
This may be impossible for you as your circumstances may not permit this (e.g., your house cat; other family members’ opinions; household chemicals, etc.) BUT if I may mention that I had a Budgie in a small home who was none the less full-flighted and he NEVER had any accidents (e.g., never crashed or got lost or hurt) bc he was an amazingly stealth flier who could turn on a dime and who so very quickly memorized the layout. Mostly he flew back & forth from open cage to playstation (two rooms apart) and ignored other areas of the house. Of course again, everyone’s situation is different so I’m just mentioning this *just in case* you didn’t realize that Budgies can safely fly around a small house or be restricted to one or two rooms. Anyway, I also later had a bald Budgie (so she couldn’t fly) and she was a happy girl with lots of home made “handicap bird” play stations to climb, clambor & jump about. I can see you’ve already given Celeste & Cyan a killer play area, and lots of attention, and they probably enjoy your attention as much as they’d enjoy flight. Thanks for being such a good “mommy” to those sweetie pies!

  3. So Cute!
And like Bnai, my budgies are lose to fly around all day. They never have accidents and hang out mainly on their play areas.

Budgies do love to fly! And it is great exercise for them. We’ve found that those silly looking bead curtains from the 70’s are great to keep them from leaving the room you want them in.
