This had been happening recently:
One of the budgies was knocking the seed cups down, spilling perfectly good seed on the bottom of the cage. We suspected Dewey. Though mild-mannered, he has been known to knock around the food cup when it has too many pellets (and not enough oats) in it. But to be sure, we set up the CooperCam to see who the culprit was. We later fast forwarded through three hours of footage and saw this:
It was Sunny! This little one definitely has a naughty streak.
Naughty Sunny! Allen has never knocked over his seed cups… he’s generally well behaved 🙂
Allen sounds like such a sweetheart!
He is! 🙂
After the incident, everyone gets quiet. I think they are all looking at Sunny and saying “Not cool, Sunny. Not cool.”
Totally!
My lovebird, Sunny (which is really weird because your budgie is named Sunny… but I didn’t know a very long time ago when I named my lovebirds) did the same thing that your Sunny did! She always knocks down the food bowl (not all the way though but seeds still come out) She knocks it down so she can climb on to the food bowl!
I read somewhere that Sunny is #2 on the top 10 bird names list. There are a lot of Sunnys out there! I wonder if they’re all as mischievous as ours…?
Miss Kauai knocks it down when she’s mad–when there’s no seed in the dish! She doesn’t do it as much now since I just pick it up and tell her how cute she is–but still no seed!
Yep – that sounds like Dewey. Budgies like their seed : ).
I love it when they’re all just sitting there, staring at the cup after it falls.
