Millet and toys! What more does a birdie want?
*sorry about the crappy phone photos – hopefully our camera will be back from the shop soon
Harvey and Sunny feasting on millet.Emmy with a new toy.Ozzie (who is having a rough moult) with one of the trees. The budgies got two so they wouldn’t squabble. Too much. Here is Cooper with the other tree. And Sido with one of her new toys.
It’s Giving Tuesday! Today is a great day to help others through the gift of your time, donations, goods or voice. One of Cooper’s favorite organizations is the Free Flight Exotic Bird Sanctuary (where we found Sido). She also likes our local animal shelter (where we found Ozzie and Alfie).

This month, I just took apart some marshmallows (kabobs) and made them in to “Halloweeny” toys with spare parts. Emmy was the first one to start shredding.Sido was not impressed. At first. She eventually took a nibble or two.Sunny, beak deep. The scary part of these toys are the mess they make!
Clear the Shelters, a nationwide pet adoption event, takes place today. Nearly 20,000 pets found a forever home at last year’s drive. Both Alfie and Ozzie were adopted from the County of San Diego Department of Animal Services. Sido was adopted from the Free Flight Exotic Bird Sanctuary. If you’re thinking of adding a pet to your family, please consider adoption. There are many pets in the shelters and rescues who need loving homes.
