Can you guess what’s in Tippi’s tote?

Millet! Finally!

Yum!

Tippi is enjoying spray millet from Higgins Premium Pet Foods.

Higgins Spray Millet is Non-GMO, grown free of pesticides and hand selected at harvest. Sun-dried and packaged without the use of preservatives, it’s a great, natural foraging treat.

We give millet to our birds as a treat and on special occasions (like hatchdays!). And sometimes just because. It’s good to have on hand when the birds are molting or aren’t feeling well, as it’s full of nutrients and easy to digest.

The Flock received some amazing toys from Feathered Addictions! These toys are from their Sassy Seaside Collection.

Tippi gets started on the Seagrit and Sand dollar Bingo Board.

Here is Tippi on the Depths of the Ocean Balsa Destroyer.

Now it’s Marvin’s turn.

One of Sido’s favorite things to do is pulling out paper and seagrass, so the Deep Sea Coral Reef toy is perfect for her.

Remembering Felix

I like to remember our “rainbow” budgies on their hatchdays. Today would have been Felix’s.

We adopted our beautiful Felix from Craigslist (his former owners wanted to concentrate on their cockatiels).

Felix was a very handsome little devil. He had a biting problem when we first brought him home, but he mellowed out as he began to trust us. He received many kisses despite the occasional nip. He really was a sweet fellow at heart.

Felix was a great friend to the other budgies. He flirted with our girls, but he loved Lera (his tweetheart). He enjoyed baths and millet and would fly to my finger when I called for him. He loved to chew up balsa, and talk to himself in the mirror. He was a very handsome boy and we treasured the nine years we had with him.
