Alfie’s favorite toy is his bell. He loves ringing it and chattering to it.
So adorable.
Sometimes he’ll croon quietly and bow his head down to the bell. I think he’s asking it for scritches (he’s moulting at present).

Alfie’s been a brave budgie, and has been venturing out of his cage.
He’s bonked into a couple walls while flying about, though : (.
Too bad no one makes itty bitty helmets.
*On his last outing, Alfie figured out how to fly back into his cage. Hurray!!

And nibbles on a kiwi. Tomorrow we’ll try a mango!

Alfie is doing well. He’s still in quarantine. We visit him during the day and bring his cage out to the living room to watch tv with us at night. He tries to get as close to us as he can. If one of us leaves the room, he’ll flutter around his cage as if he wants to go with us.
A little quirk of Alfie’s is that he will take one seed at a time out of his food dish and then hop to his perch to eat it.
Last night he sat on my finger. Yay! I can’t wait for him to meet the rest of the flock : ).

Look what I brought home today!
Nope, it’s not a Doodlebug.
It’s an adorable budgie! I picked it up at the animal shelter. It’s another mystery bird – it was found outdoors and has no leg band. It will be in quarantine for a month, but the budgies are already chirping back and forth. Not sure of it’s age or whether it’s male or female. I’ll have to ask the experts on http://talkbudgies.com/. And of course, the little cutie will need a name…
