Blue beak

Uh, remember that toy from 3 posts ago? The one I thought would last for more than a week? bbWell, this one* was on a mission to prove me wrong.

*with a little help from Cooper and Ozzie.

bb2She nibbled so much on the blue block that her beak turned blue.

bb3 I couldn’t get a photo of it, but her tongue was blue, too.

bb4She went through 4 of the yucca pieces in 2 days.

bb5Here she is posing with her “kill”.

bb1Here she is in action:

Pardon the poops (some of which, by the way, were blue).

Sunny’s cere

The other day I noticed that Sunny’s cere was changing color.

cere1cere2cere3It took about three days to go from brown (breeding condition) to a light blue.

Sunny also came out of her cage. She flew back and forth from the top of her cage to my bookshelf. It took me 15 minutes to get her back in her cage. She’ll step up on my finger, but won’t stay on for long. Guess we still have more work to do!

Day 2

lhLittle Lemon head (that’s what we’re calling her until we pick a name) is settling in. She’s been chirping, checking out her toys and eating her seed (she didn’t touch her lettuce). She’s still wary, though, and flaps around the cage when I put my hand in. Guess it’s time to break out the millet!
