Sometimes I serve the budgies their fruits/veggies on a dish.
After she’s done with her nibbling, Sunny likes to squeeze under the dish and hang out.

Blue beak
Uh, remember that toy from 3 posts ago? The one I thought would last for more than a week? 
Well, this one* was on a mission to prove me wrong.
*with a little help from Cooper and Ozzie.
She nibbled so much on the blue block that her beak turned blue.
I couldn’t get a photo of it, but her tongue was blue, too.
She went through 4 of the yucca pieces in 2 days.

Sunny’s toys
For her birthday, Sunny received the “Mini Starburst” toy from Superbird Creations. The other budgies helped her play with it (especially Ozzie).
She also got her favorite toy – marshmallows (kabobs) and feasted on millet. Sunny wants everyone to know she’s moulting and doesn’t usually look this scraggly.

Sunny turns two-ish (according to the info. from her previous owner). Sunny is still camera shy, so I couldn’t get a real pic of her with her unopened presents.

After shredding this perfectly nice (and new) perch, this one decided to move on to the wooden perches.

So I put a new perch in and a couple hours later, she was at it again. Sigh.

Fashion Face-Off!
Sunny’s cere
The other day I noticed that Sunny’s cere was changing color.
It took about three days to go from brown (breeding condition) to a light blue.
Sunny also came out of her cage. She flew back and forth from the top of her cage to my bookshelf. It took me 15 minutes to get her back in her cage. She’ll step up on my finger, but won’t stay on for long. Guess we still have more work to do!
Not a chew toy
Which little budgie decided that a brand new rope perch would make a great chew toy?
Silly little Sunny. Chewing/shredding the toys that are there for that purpose just isn’t as fun, I guess.
Day 2
Little Lemon head (that’s what we’re calling her until we pick a name) is settling in. She’s been chirping, checking out her toys and eating her seed (she didn’t touch her lettuce). She’s still wary, though, and flaps around the cage when I put my hand in. Guess it’s time to break out the millet!
