If you happen to be in Alaska…
A man in Anchorage, Alaska passed away, leaving behind 300(!) cockatiels. The birds appeared to be healthy and well cared for.
The baby cockatiels that were found will be hand fed.
The Alaska Bird Club plans to adopt out some of the birds from two Petco locations. Other birds will be taken to Anchorage Animal Care and Control, where they will be available for adoption after a period of quarantine.
You can follow updated on the cockatiels by visiting The Alaska Bird Club page, here.

Happy Ending
Last month over 80 cockatiels were rescued from a hoarding situation in San Diego. The Humane Society’s law enforcement division took the birds out. They were examined and yesterday were given the all clear for adoption.
The birds were up for adoption at 11 am. By 2 pm every one of the birds had been adopted. We are so happy the cockatiels have found new homes. We wish them and their new families all the best!
