Alfie’s birthday present finally arrived in the mail.
It’s the 4 Ring a Ding bird toy by All Bonka Bird Toys. Alfie is being shy in the photo, but he loves his bells. He started playing with them before I even got them in the cage.
It’s the Helix bird toy from All Bonka Bird Toys. I took the foam parts off (the budgies are such chewers, don’t want them chewing foam) and added a couple vine rings.
Cooper started things off. Then it was Sunny’s turn. She loved it.
Emmy comes closer to see what’s going on.

This is a popular toy – there was certainly a lot of squabbling over it. But things calmed down eventually (thank goodness).
Meet Soterion!
Soterion lives in Michigan with Randy.
Soterion’s favorite toy is his buddy Solomon. Soterion is infatuated with him and follows him around everywhere. He is absolutely crazy over anything green in the veggie department, always the first to the fresh greens I give them, and will fight to get his share. I just had a thought, maybe he chases Solomon around because he think’s he is a big green veggie… Lol…
He is also crazy over nutriberries….he is about a year old now : ).
This month’s book is Mr. Pete, Where Are Your Feet? by Katherine Bartlett.

When greeting her little budgie, Mr. Pete’s owner gives him a kiss and asks him,”Mr. Pete, where are your feet?” Mr. Pete notices that some of his toes are shorter than the others and sets off to look for them. He and the rest of his flock (which includes finches and a cockatiel) set off to find Mr. Pete’s toes. They look in all the cages, the food bowls and even under the ladders, but Mr. Pete’s toes are nowhere to be found.
Mr. Pete’s owner notices him looking sadly at his toes and tell him that he was born with some toes shorter than the others. This makes him special and she loves him just the way he is.
Cooper loved this book. She liked the message of the story – that we all deserve to be loved for who we are. The illustrations were fun and Cooper enjoyed looking at all the birds as they zipped about looking for Mr. Pete’s toes. She also liked that at the end of the book there were photos of all the birds featured in the book (and who belong to the author).

Look who’s two!
Alfie’s real present hasn’t come in the mail yet : (. So I wrapped up a footie toy for him. I’ll post a pic of the birthday boy with his gift when it arrives.
Birthday lettuce and millet were enjoyed.
The photos are blurry because Alfie is always on the move.
