Mannix is hired by a newspaper publisher to discover why his daughter (Sally Kellerman) is behaving oddly. But who cares? It’s all about the budgies who steal the long scene between Mannix and his former flame. The two rekindle their flame with a dance which is shot from the other side of the aviary – the parakeets, out of focus, flitting about in the foreground.
