Ozzie’s presents – The Stargazer (his favorite toy) and a bell ball.
He also got to feast on millet and Romaine lettuce (organic). Ozzie is crazy about Romaine lettuce. He’ll eat all of his share and if Cooper or Dewey have any left, he’ll eat that, too.

This month’s book is Feathers in the Fry Pan! by Brandy House. This book was in the budgie box sent by Susan – thanks Susan!
Feathers in the Fry Pan tells of the amusing adventures of Tiger, an adorable little green budgie. Tiger was very affectionate and much loved by his family. He had free reign of the house and was into everything.
This was a cute, but short book (perhaps because Tiger only lived one year). Tiger had some close calls and escaped the house twice. The family’s other bird, a young budgie named Bird, was killed by their dog. While Cooper enjoyed this book, she was disturbed by the untimely ends of Bird and Tiger (budgies need supervision). And she won’t even get into the poor sentence structure and grammatical errors. Although Tiger had a short life, it seemed to be a happy one, and this book certainly depicts the joy of budgie ownership.

The other day I noticed that Sunny’s cere was changing color.
It took about three days to go from brown (breeding condition) to a light blue.
Sunny also came out of her cage. She flew back and forth from the top of her cage to my bookshelf. It took me 15 minutes to get her back in her cage. She’ll step up on my finger, but won’t stay on for long. Guess we still have more work to do!
Recently, Ozzie packed up all of his belongings and moved in with Cooper and Dewey.
The three are getting along well. Ozzie is very popular. If he’s not hanging out with Cooper, he’s hanging out with Dewey. He’s rarely off on his own.
There has been the occasional squabble, but the budgies are doing a great job sharing their food/toys/perches. Cooper seems to have first dibs on everything, though. Hopefully, Sunny will have an easy move as well.
Moving can be exhausting…
