Cooper’s diet
A few weeks ago Cooper weighed in at 50 grams. So our little booper went on a diet.
She nibbled on broccoli.
And salad.
Eating upside down helps you burn calories!
I caught her sneaking food while I was cleaning the cage. Naughty!
Cooper knew that weigh-in day was approaching, so she decided to drop her tail feathers. Every little bit helps.
Cooper has another tip for slimming down. Throw all your pellets away!
Here she is on the new scale. 43 grams! Good job Cooper!
Budgie quirks – Alfie
The budgies all have their little quirks. You can usually see what Alfie’s been eating just by looking at his face…
I’ve shown this one before. But he’s just so cute with lettuce on his beak.
Mmm. Carrot.
And seed…
Too bad they don’t make tiny budgie napkins.

Alfie noticed Harry with his food dish, so he flew over to investigate.
Harry gave him a few oats to munch on.
But then he spied the open seed container…
And he flew right in!

Turkey Day*
Today is also the second anniversary of Cooper’s Corner – so the budgies had two reasons to celebrate.
Dewey started with an appetizer of oats (his favorite). Yum!
First course was a salad.
The main course was Momma Bird’s Caribbean Loaf Birdie Bread (with a side of grated carrot). Ozzie digs in.
Alfie LOVED the bread.
He went back for a second helping.
And a third helping. He needs to work on his table manners, though. We don’t get in our food to eat it, Alfie.
Please pass the millet!
The budgies had fresh Granny Smith apple slices for dessert.
