Bird-sitter extraordinaire
While we were in Seattle, our good friend Dave checked in on Cooper and Dewey.
They were well looked after, and as far as we know, did not throw any wild parties.

Cooper’s Alehouse
Harry and I just returned from a trip to Seattle. Of course, we had to visit Cooper’s Alehouse.
We did not get the Cooper Bird. Or a t-shirt (they didn’t sell them). Boo.

Besse Cooper – born August 26, 1896
Besse Berry Cooper (née Brown) is an American supercentenarian. A former teacher, she is the world’s oldest living person. Today she turns 116.
Cooper reputedly attributes her longevity to “minding her own business” and avoiding junk food.

Meet Allen!
Allen is about one year old and lives with Iva.
By the way, his cage is HUGE; dimensions are 31-inches long, 20-1/2-inches wide, 53-inches high. He’s spoiled.
New toy – August
Because we love them so, Cooper and Dewey got two toys this month.
This little thingie is a foot toy.
Dewey is working on tearing it apart.
The other toy is a parrot parakeet piñata.
I hope Cooper won’t be disappointed when she discovers it’s not filled with millet.

Cooper (and Dewey) love Kleenex. It’s fun to tear it into little pieces and even make spit wads with it! Bonus points because it makes a mess.

Cooper’s Compadres
Meet Bun!
Bun (official name: Cocodot) is a 11 year old Holland dwarf rabbit. Bun lives in Ontario with Tam. He was rescued from a pet store when someone traded him in for a guinea pig. Even though the store didn’t take trade-ins, when his owners threatened to release him in the wild they took him, so now he is our little senior citizen, as most rabbits do not live this long. Go figure.
His favourite foods are carrots, apples and bananas, but he also likes lettuce and hay and his bun pellets. He doesn’t like to come out of his cage much and we have to be careful because he likes to chew on rubber items like erasers, Barbie feet and electrical cords. Danger, Bun, Danger!
He’s well behaved, even if not that prone to cuddling. He is a cutie.
