Two years ago we brought our little Alfie home from the animal shelter.

They handed him to me in a box. I had no idea what he looked like until I got him home. What a wonderful surprise to find such an adorable budgie!

Alfie (who narrowly escaped the name “Captain Underpants”) has been such a joy to us over the past two years. His antics always make us laugh, and he’s a sweetheart to boot.

Budgie butt!
The budgies have new swings!
I saw them on the TalkBudgies site and had to have them for the flock. I ordered two from master swing maker Rick. 
The budgies jumped right on.
They look so cute hanging around on their rainbow swings.
We don’t always get the budgies’ photos right on the first shot*. Here are some pics that didn’t make the cut.

Alfie’s birthday present finally arrived in the mail.
It’s the 4 Ring a Ding bird toy by All Bonka Bird Toys. Alfie is being shy in the photo, but he loves his bells. He started playing with them before I even got them in the cage.

Alfie’s real present hasn’t come in the mail yet : (. So I wrapped up a footie toy for him. I’ll post a pic of the birthday boy with his gift when it arrives.

We moved Harvey’s cage into the birdroom (might as well just start calling my office this) on Saturday. He’s not stepping up yet, but is close. As soon as he does, he’ll move into the big cage.
Cooper met Harvey first (she’s the calmest of the budgies). We let her visit him when he was in the living room. It wasn’t a love match, but she did let him feed her.

Alfie wasn’t that interested in Harvey. But he was interested in Harvey’s shiny bell.
Emmy had fun playing with the cage handle. It makes such a lovely racket when you repeatedly pick it up and drop it.
Looks like Harvey is ready to come out!
