Time for a new cage, I think.
Alfie joins the flock
Alfie has finally joined the flock!
He met Cooper first – she flew into the room he was in when I left the door open. Oops.
We moved Alfie’s cage next to the budgies’ cage. Cooper made herself right at home (someone has to destroy Alfie’s toys)! Alfie hasn’t moved into the big cage, but gets outside time with the flock. They’re still establishing a pecking order and we’re not comfortable with leaving them alone yet.
Here they all are on the big cage (which does not seem so big anymore…).
Hanging out on the play gym. I’ll have to work on getting a better photo of them together. They’re not very good at staying still.
Alfie is fascinated with Sunny. Watch out Dewey!
Alfie and Ozzie have become buddies. They like to chase Dewey away from Sunny. Double trouble!

Cooper was fascinated by her reflection in the printer. She was chasing herself in circles – but I was too late with the camera to catch it.

The novelty of the paper towel roll has not worn off.
Going,

gone!
Sunny thinks she owns the paper towels and chases the other budgies away. I put her in the cage so that Cooper could have a turn.
She went nuts watching Cooper playing with HER towels, so I had to let her out.
Caught in the Act
This had been happening recently:
One of the budgies was knocking the seed cups down, spilling perfectly good seed on the bottom of the cage. We suspected Dewey. Though mild-mannered, he has been known to knock around the food cup when it has too many pellets (and not enough oats) in it. But to be sure, we set up the CooperCam to see who the culprit was. We later fast forwarded through three hours of footage and saw this:
It was Sunny! This little one definitely has a naughty streak.
Harry got to work and budgie-proofed the seed cups.
